
Bjorn Dahl is a San Diego native and played for San Dieguito High School and
Seaside Volleyball Club. Bjorn then earned an athletic scholarship to play
at Long Beach State. During his playing stint at Long Beach, he was named
player of the match 4 times. During that time Long Beach competed for a
National Championship in three of his four years.
Bjorn brings a tremendous amount of coaching experience to San Diego
ShoreBreak. Bjorn’s resume includes posts at San Diego Mesa College and a
current position as a head coach at Palomar College Men’s program. In his
college head coaching career, Bjorn has coached over twelve first team all
conference players and was named Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the Year
in 2008. Several of Bjorn’s college players went on to play division 1
volleyball, including two athletes that made it the NCAA Division 1
championships.
On the junior level Bjorn has coached numerous successful club teams. Over
the years Bjorn’s teams have earned 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals. In
2010 Bjorn helped his Seaside 18-1 team win the silver medal, and assisted
the 17 Seaside team that won the Gold in the Open.
Bjorn graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems in 2003. In
addition to being the founding director of Shorebreak Volleyball Club Bjorn
is also the owner of Dahl Academy and SoCal Pro Shop. Bjorn lives in San
Marcos with his wife Alli and his One and a halh year old daughter, Riley.

Summers- Torres

At
24 years of age, there are not many coaches in the country that possess
Ted Summers- Torres' volleyball resume. At this point, Ted has already
coached boys teams to both Junior Olympic Open Championship Titles (17
Open 2010), and multiple CIF Titles. Ted coaches numerous teams during a
single year. Presently Ted coaches for the Grossmont JC Men's Program
and is the Head Coach for the top ranked Cathedral Catholic Men's
Program. Last year at Shorebreak, Ted coached two of the five teams that
earned Open Bid's to the 2011 Junior Nationals, helping Shorebreak earn
Open Bid's for every age group represented by the club; A first in San
Diego.
A
native of San Diego, Ted went to University of San Diego High School and
played for the only club around at the time, Seaside. Ted then went on
to play at Ball State University from 2004-2007. At 5'9, Ted also earned
his AAA rating in beach volleyball (the sport's high pro-am status). Now
as the Co- Director of Shorebreak Volleyball Club, Ted brings his
experience to the sport at an entirely new level. This year Ted will
head coach the Shorebreak 16 Mikasa Program and assist with the 17
Mikasa Program where he intends to make another run at the Junior
Olympic gold medal!

Director of Players-
Travis Lee

As
one of the young talented coaches heading up a top Shorebreak team,
Travis Lee has a variety of coaching experiences. A protege of Fred
Featherstone (the founder of Seaside), Travis was recruited to play at
Grossmont College. Under Featherstone's instruction, Travis went on to
lead his college team to the best regular season record in the program's
history. Individually Travis has also earned his AAA beach volleyball
rating.
This year Travis takes the helm for Grossmont JC Men's Program as the
Head Coach. Last season, Travis lead the Griffin's to its best finish in
school history, as a State Finalist. Travis was the assistant coach for
teams who won Medals at Seaside in 2010 (18-1 Silver Medal and 17-1 Gold
Medal). Travis is known as a "player's coach" for his demanding yet
personable coaching style. Travis will head coach the Shorebreak 17
Mikasa Program and we are proud to bring his knowledge and charisma to
the entire program.
